2008 Blue Moon Ball and Art Auction Update
This year’s Blue Moon Ball and Art Auction was
a success! We made over $3,000 to continue making improvements to
the Depot. It’s not as much as I was hoping for, but every little
bit helps and we had a blast! I want to thank every one who helped
us pull through again this year. From our members who handled art
intake to our members who came afterwards and helped clean up. It’s
a big job but thanks to all of you, it went pretty smoothly.
I believe that MAG should continue our annual
fundraising efforts. We tried an idea that I thought would be
successful for the last 2 years but I’m convinced that there are
better options and people out there who have brilliant ideas and the
enthusiasm to match. We are looking for someone or a collaborative
group of folks who would be willing to take on the 2009 fundraiser.
This is a great opportunity to get involved in the community and put
your self on the “Good Doobie” list. You can plan the entire thing
your way or if you prefer to keep the same format and shag with the
same band as the last 2 years, I have a wonderful list of contacts
for venders, corporate support, member support, restaurants and the
like for you to build upon. And of course, you will have the support
of the MAG Board and our generous members to rely on. Any takers?

On May 31st, 2008 MAG held it's second annual Blue Moon Ball and Art Auction. The
Mooresville Artist Guild threw open its doors to host evening of food, drink, music,
dancing
and fine art. |
|
Guests danced to Carolina Beach music performed live by
the Fantastic
Shakers, sampled hors d'oeuvres provided by local restaurants,
drink NC beer and wines at our cash bar, and bid on original art by award-winning area artists. |
